The Final Concert - Buenos Aires, Argentina
The final
concert of the Festival de las Americas (Festival of the Americas)
was held at
6 pm at
Teatro Coolies Posed.
The concert
opened with the Coro de Ninos del Teatro Argentino (choir)
directed
by Oscar Escalada (Argentina)

The Hong Kong Children's Singers under the direction of Dr. Yip Wai Hong sang next.

Then the American Youth Choir performed under the direction of Dr. Julian Ackerley

Next up the Hong Kong Children's
Singers performed again, followed by
the Coro del Festival de
las Americas (Festival Choir) directed by Elza Lakschevitz from Brazil.
The Festival Choir is composed
of a few selected choristers from each of the choirs.
Joleen Abarca, Jennifer Holland,
Rachel Cleveland and Ruth Bryant represented TGC.

The finale was Masa Coral
del Festival de las Americas (Mass Choir) with about
300 singers from all of the
participating choirs.

The next song was Alfosina
y el mar. All 5 directors took turns directing this song.
One would direct for a while,
then hand it off to the next director.
The final song, Tutira Mai,
had
choreography. The directors did the choreography for kids.

Farewell Party and Dinner
After the concert we went by
busses for a 30 minute drive to a large building
for a dinner party and dance.
The Hong Kong youth were not allowed on the dance floor
so they made their own fun with
some American Youth Choir members.

The evening was over much too
soon. Tomorrow we will begin our long trip home.
