At the Tucson Airport

Jack Kukuk wrote
Last evening, the choir presented its first concert at the University of
Arizona School of Music's Crowder Hall.  They have had approximately six
hours of rehearsal and they were wonderful.  You can be very proud of all of
them.  In about an hour they will begin to arrive at the Tucson airport to go
the Los Angeles.  We hope that United Airlines will not have a slow down
today for this flight.  The next leg of the flight is on to Santiago, Chile.

More from there.

After many hours the American Youth Choir is now in Chile!  We boarded United Airlines to Los Angeles without a flaw and the trip was quick and easy.  Once in Los Angeles we all settled in for a long wait - over 5 hours.  At a little after 2 in the afternoon we boarded Lan Chile and were on our way south.

It was a great flight and they treated the choir wonderfully.  A few hours into the flight, Dr. Ackerley led the choir in Gloria and Stars and Stripes Forever, everyone loved it!  We made a stop in Lima Peru to refuel and exchange passengers at about 1AM local time then arrived in Santiago at 6AM.  Right on time!
